California PUC Targets Doubling Renewable Energy by 2030

LCG, March 27, 2020--The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) yesterday unanimously approved a new emissions target for its electric sector that would double California's clean energy capacity through 2030 and effectively block new natural gas-fired electric generating facilities.

South Korean Power Strike Continues

LCG, Mar. 28, 2002--According to Korea Electric Power Co. (KEPCO), South Korea's state-owned power company, approximately 35 percent of striking workers at numerous facilities, or 2,200 overall, have broken ranks with other unionized workers and returned to work.

The strike is in its 31st day, and government and management officials now say that only after the strike has been declared over by its leaders will they return to the negotiating table. The union has not accepted privatization, and was told last week that members would be fired Monday of this week if the strike were still in effect.
